Reflecting upon the life and works of Gordon B. Hinckley, I am humbled and awed by the limitless potential one man posesses to do good in this world. There are a precious and chosen few who live their lives in such a way that it changes the attitudes and outlook of others for the better, and then there are those few in positions of power who manipulate and mangle the world to do good for themselves. President Hinckley changed the world for the better, both by his infallible work ethic and by the simple fact that he truly cared for those whom he felt it was his duty to serve. As I observe the pretentiousness of the political climate, I can't help but imagine what our country might be like if we had leaders of the same caliber as those who lead the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Regardless of what one may think of their beliefs, these are men who serve in the true sense of the word, without thought of recompense. Our current secular leaders make a mockery of the term "public servant." May they look to President Hinckley, as those under his care have for so long, as an example of leadership, service, duty, and integrity. May they look to his works as a living illustration of what it means to be a "Public Servant." May we build our nation upon the principles he cherished, that we too, may stand just a little taller. We will miss you.
